“Schnitzel Time”, An Austrian Dream

“Schnitzel Time”, An Austrian Dream

“Schnitzel Time, the new film by (and starring) Clemens Millauer promises 30 minutes of authentic snowboarding and breathtaking views of the Austrian alpine landscape.

At the direction we find Clemens Millauer, icon of the Austrian snowboard scene. Following Millauer are quite a number of professional Austrian riders, such as Anna Gasser, Werni Stock, Tom Tramnitz, Gigi Rüf, Sani Alibabic and Adrian Krainer. The promise is high and an exceptional view of the discipline is expected, through the eyes of those who have made snowboarding their bread and butter.

The idea for the project gradually emerged during a day on the Stubai Glacier. Ideas were tossed around and one planted roots. The name was found shortly after during the descent on the cabin. Anna invented it, not without some amusement.

“Schnitzel Time” seems perfect for chronicling the world of snowboarding as the group of Austrian athletes set out to do. And indeed, the title sticked. It passed the creation of the film and ended up right on the poster.

“Schnitzel Time” paints the different winning combinations of board action and fun that characterize each rider. From the outback to the parks and urban environment, the film seeks to capture the essence of Austrian snowboarding, always through the individual lens of each rider.

“It’s schnitzel time! My fellow Austrian snowboarders and I made a movie! At first we had no plan or concept for the project. The daily trip to get out and snowboard took us from place to place, and the pile of shots got bigger by the day. To add some extra flavor to it all, we made a montage for the introductions that gives the viewer some insights into our personal fears and nightmares in a fun way. Looking at the final version now, I’m very excited to present Austria’s best snowboarding soon,” said Clemens Millauer.

Below are the comments of the other athletes involved in the shooting.

Adrian Krainer:

“For me sharing shots in the movie with this line-up of riders is a privilege itself. The variety of characters will hopefully inspire viewers to get out and have a good time on the mountain just as we did.”

Sani Alibabic:

“Few sessions in, I got a good reminder why I’m on the other side of things these days. Spending time on the hill and working on the project with such a rad crew was like a dream though!”

Tom Tramnitz:

“For me it is an absolute honor to be part of the movie with such a legendary squad. After all we had one of the worst snow seasons in Austria this past winter, so I’m even more stoked that the hard work we put in paid off in the end.”

Anna Gasser:

“Getting to spend a few sessions with such a legendary crew of Austrian shredders was just cool. Even though I had to go through some challenges, like knee-to-face and loosing half a tooth, I enjoyed the experience and had a great time.”

Werni Stock:

“With a chat on the lift and exchanging funny ideas all day, the project came to life. I’m proud of everyone involved that we managed to pull this movie off. Thanks to all the boys and girl!”

Gigi Rüf:

“Because of my racing schedule, I traveled to Canada and found myself in epic dream conditions. This video brought us tighter together. Filming the intros was a good time.”
