Test: Dynafit Blacklight Pro 172

Test: Dynafit Blacklight Pro 172

A skialp ski conceived and designed to respond in the most complete way to the greatest need of athletes: speed.

Weight reduced to a minimum, stability and competition performance are the characteristics of the Blacklight Pro by Dynafit, that tries to satisfy professional ski mountaineers who want to climb as fast as possible. It is no coincidence that with this model Benedikt Böhm completed the ascent to the top of Dhaulagiri VII (7.246m, Nepal) in just 6 hours and 6 minutes, starting from base camp (with subsequent descent on skis). Speed is also the basis of the Pin-Skin fixing system (winner of an ISPO Gold Award) which allows, thanks to a special pin with an insert, to save time in attaching the skins and to save additional weight (essential for those who compete). The difference in terms of speed is truly impressive compared to traditional skins fastening systems, seeing is believing. The 3D structure of the ski and the rocker construction manage, in spite of the minimal weight that normally does not help when going downhill, to guarantee good reactivity in downhill directional changes, allowing you to tackle even inaccessible and icy slopes. The descent is therefore stable and reliable, well supported by the energy transmission delegated to the lateral ABS, but it is obviously the agility in the ascent (and you know that the climbing speed is everything for the skialpers) to represent the focus of the Blacklight Pro and we can guarantee you on its high performances.

We Like: Impossible not to be surprised by its lightweight and the very fast Pin-Skin system, winner of the ISPO Gold Award among other things. Climbing speed and agility are top-level.
