Test: Hanwag Makra Low GTX

Test: Hanwag Makra Low GTX

Designed to withstand any roughness.

The low cut version of the Makra Combi GTX is one of the Rock offers of the Bavarian brand Hanwag: high-performance footwear designed for approach, via ferratas and easy climbing passages. At first glance it appears to be a lightweight and compact shoe, with a balanced, clean and slender cut. The fit is simple and comfortable, characterized by enveloping volumes. The upper combines a central body in Cordura with reinforcements and belt loops in suede. The lacing, optimized up to the tip, uses a classic Ghillie-type criss-cross system that creates friction in the laces without losing memory over time.

The configuration is completed by a lining with a honeycomb structure, also recalled in the soft collar. The same structure is also present in the geometries of the midsole. The aggressive tread, equipped with a Vibram Pepe sole, is specially designed to provide optimal performance on difficult terrain. It felt extremely stable uphill, with precise and dynamic supports. The shoe, optimized in terms of weight, is extremely light. Overall, it is a shoe designed for approaching, but which is extremely comfortable even on long walks, especially if used by expert feet. Recommended for those who live the mountains with intensity and are looking for a reliable shoe that lasts over time.

We Like: Tensioning during lacing.
