Test: Hoka One One Challenger ATR 6

Test: Hoka One One Challenger ATR 6

A soft, cushioned and comfortable shoe, suitable for long distances.

Whoever has already owned a Hoka One One model knows that the main feature that made this company famous is the very soft material of the sole compartment. Thanks to the large air component, this shoe has given us a great feeling of lightweight and softness during the run. Its low weight (270 grams per pair) and the low drop (5mm) make it a shoe that works well on different paces, not only slow ones, and that ensures to be reactive especially for those people with a good running technique and good legs. The real strong point is obviously the versatility that makes it perfect for running on mixed asphalt/trail, on flowing gravel roads or in the woods, on river banks and on all those extreme non-mountain situations.

Although it is very fashionable to look for grip on Dolomite rock, it is true that most runners train every day in parks, or on more or less simple trails close to home, and this shoe is perfect as a door to trail model. Challenger ATR 6 is also a good ally for those who need a cushioned shoe which can help them with support defects, the material is in fact reactive and put on the feet of good athletes who know how to run for long distances could be the ideal choice for very smooth trail races.

We Like: Comfort after many hours of use.
