The North Face: Ripstop Icons

The North Face presents the new Ripstop Icons collection.

The North Face presents the new PE24 “Ripstop Icons” Collection, which revises the concept of exploration by offering some of the brand’s most iconic garments in an innovative way. Ripstop Icons celebrates the early days of outdoor clothing, drawing inspiration from explorers who used advanced postwar materials such as parachute nylon and aircraft aluminum to create more functional equipment. At the heart of this Collection is texture, with a military-inspired aesthetic and a waxed-Ripstop fabric. The waxed outer fabric provides optimum garment durability while the woven, tear-resistant grid pattern of Ripstop technology contributes to the long-lasting durability expected of a The North Face garment. Ripstop Icons presents new interpretations of the brand’s most coveted lifestyle garments: the ’92 Nuptse, Denali Jacket and Denali Pants.

The Nuptse Ripstop jacket, originally part of the 1992 Expedition System, has provided excellent warmth since 1992 and transitions naturally from the mountains to city streets. Like the ’92 original, the soft down filling, iconic oversized panels and fold-down hood keep the wearer warm and dry when it’s cold and rainy. The square, wide cut is a throwback to the first version, with an elegant twist. But unlike the original, this version is made of recycled ripstop fabric.
The Denali Jacket Ripstop model, also inspired by the original version, was made from 100 percent recycled ripstop fabric. It is durable, breathable and warms without weighing down for optimal protection against the elements on wet and windy days.
Denali Ripstop pants, are another great The North Face classic, designed with 100 percent recycled ripstop fabric. Seams are articulated for greater freedom of movement, while exposed zippers at the ankles ensure a snug fit even with shoes and boots on.
