Trento Film Festival: a kaleidoscope on the mountains of the world

Self-exploration, the fragility of the mountains and the new challenges it poses to mankind are some of the threads that run through the program of the
Trento Film Festival
.

More than 40 locations are ready to host the 120 films and more than 130 events of 72. Trento Film Festival, scheduled from April 26 to May 5 in Trento’s capital city. To announce,
During a press conference in Milan at Cinemino, Trento Film Festival president Mauro Leveghi, along with Angelo Schena, a member of the Central Steering Committee
of the Cai, the director of the festival, Luana Bisesti, and film program manager Mauro Gervasini. Representing the City of Trent, a partner in the Festival, was Councillor for Culture Elisabetta Bozzarelli.

“For so many years, the Trento Film Festival was the “Filmfestival of the Mountains,” with the highlands declined in the singular. A legacy of a somewhat idealistic vision, outdated in fact and perhaps never really suited to the soul of the festival. In fact, since the early years, the Festival has put aside the monolithic concept of mountains to be conquered in the name of some strong idea, whether it was progress or homeland,” said President Mauro Leveghi. “Today the true identity of the Trento Film Festival is in its payoff: Mountains and Cultures. In the plural, both of them, because there are so many mountains in the world, and we like to think of the ways of looking at them, experiencing them and interpreting them as even infinite. In this 72nd edition, too, we will try to give space and voice to this plurality, thinking of the Festival as a kind of kaleidoscope, through which each viewer composes his or her own overall picture, being amazed at each small change of angle at how much the overall vision can change.”

Thus, the 72nd edition of the Trento Film Festival promises to be diverse and thought-provoking, with Italian and international guestssuch as mountaineers Reinhold Messner, Tamara Lunger, Krzysztof Wielicki, Silvo Karo, Iranian climber and civil rights activist Nasim Eshqui, climbing champion Stefano Ghisolfi, writers Mauro Corona, Arno Camenisch, Enrico Brizzi, Erri De Luca, Fosco Terzani, Matteo Righetto, actors Alessio Boni and Veronica Pivetti, journalists Corrado Augias and Beppe Severgnini, philosopher Umberto Galimberti, and explorers Alex Bellini, Tristan Gooley and Lorenzo Barone.
