Triple Award for the Odin Infinity Insulated Jacket by Helly Hansen
The technical features and sustainability credentials of Helly Hansen’s new Odin Infinity Insulated Jacket have won three coveted international awards in the outdoor industry: Ispo Gold Award, Ispo Sustainability Achievement and Outdoor Retailer Innovation Award.
Introduced by Helly Hansen in the 2021-22 winter collection, the Odin Infinity Shell Jacket is a padded shell for mountain and outdoor activities in cold conditions, which convinced the jury of the most important international awards in the outdoor industry thanks to its professional-level performance achieved through the use of sustainable technologies exclusive to the Norwegian brand, such as Lifa Infinity Pro technology.
Ispo and Outdoor Retail award the Odin Infinity Insulated Jacket
Ispo is the most important network of brands and sports article professionals in Europe. Each year, an independent jury of experts evaluates hundreds of entries using predefined protocols to identify the most advanced products in terms of design and functionality. The Odin Infinity Insulated Jacket was not only selected as the best product in the Outdoor Insulated category and won the Ispo Gold Award 2021, but also the Ispo Sustainability Achievement 2021, which is awarded to products that demonstrate outstanding achievements and innovation in the field of sustainability. For this edition, only five other products received this coveted award. This award is a great success for the Norwegian brand, demonstrating Helly Hansen’s commitment to sustainability and how the Lifa Infinity Pro technology is already a milestone towards producing technical protective clothing with less environmental impact.

Lifa Infinity Pro Technology
The Odin Infinity Insulation Jacket engineers the innovative Lifa Infinity Pro technology, developed to offer a new standard of sustainability for waterproof and breathable fabrics. With a virtuosity of textile engineering, Helly Hansen’s R&D team has succeeded in creating a three-layer laminate using only hydrophobic Lifa fibres, the Norwegian brand’s proprietary technology, for the outer fabric.
The technical characteristics of the polypropylene with which the Lifa fibres are made have made it possible to obtain a fabric with effective water repellence and water permeability without having to use traditional chemical DWR finishes, with or without PFC. The outer fabric made from 100% Lifa hydrophobic fibres is laminated to the new Lifa Infinity membrane, which has a microporous structure obtained without the use of solvents in the production process.
In addition, the Odin Infinity Insulation Jacket fabric is produced using solution-dyed technology, which eliminates the presence of environmentally hazardous chemicals in the wastewater, as is the case with traditional dip-dyeing, and makes the colouring permanent. In this way, the new technology developed by Helly Hansen provides conscious consumers with a padded shell with the best sustainability credentials and professional performance in terms of waterproofing and breathability.
