Women’s Trad Festival 2021: Rab & Lowe Alpine supported Women’s Trad Festival 2021

Sharing the vision for creating inclusive opportunities outdoors, Rab and Lowe Alpine are long term supporters of the Festival, taking place in the Peak district/UK 6th-8th August

British outdoor brands Rab and Lowe Alpine (owned by Equip Outdoor Technologies Ltd.) are delighted to continue their support for Women’s Trad Festival (WTF). The 2021 event will take place on the 6th – 8th of August in the Peak District, UK, home to world renowned gritstone climbing. Rab and Lowe Alpine share the Festival’s goals in increasing participation and inclusion outdoors, as well as their sustainability and zero-waste values.

Attending this year’s Festival to support the main program with kit testing, advice, and talks, Rab and Lowe Alpine will provide a down recycling point, encouraging festival goers to close the loop on this valuable resource. Rab and Lowe Alpine are excited to host the following events:

Interactive Workshop with Rab Product Designer, Amber Brown: Meet the Maker – Designing climbing apparel and equipment, 7pm, Friday 6thAugust.
Sustainability Talk with Equip CSR Manager, Debbie Read: Myth Busting and Jargon Crunching – Why it’s important to know what’s in your kit, 7pm, Saturday 7th August.

The Women’s Trad Festival originally launched in 2016. Empowerment and connection are a priority for the Festival leaders, who set up WTF to inspire confidence in beginners transitioning from indoor to outdoor climbing, to create an inclusive network of trad climbers, and to promote the positive effects that climbing has on mental wellbeing. The Festival has successfully created a welcoming community, supporting women and other marginalised genders in outdoor leadership, fostering diversity, and breaking down barriers to (trad) climbing for women of all ages, identities, ethnicities, and backgrounds.

As proud partners from the beginning, Rab and Lowe Alpine have watched WTF grow from strength to strength. With tickets for the 2019 edition selling out in under a second and the huge response to the “Climbers Like Me” series that was launched when the Festival couldn’t go ahead in 2020, WTF has demonstrated the growing appetite for climbing and community amongst women.
