X-Bionic Lake Garda 42

X-Bionic Lake Garda 42 has been growing more and more, but few expected that already in its third edition the organizers were forced to close registration a month before the race due to reached participation limit.
This is a clear sign of the fame the running event has built up since its debut in 2022, and not only within national borders.
In fact, as many as 4,200 runners from 72 countries participated in the event staged on the northern shores of Lake Garda, exceptional numbers even compared to the already high 2023 numbers.

The LG42 Marathon

In the men’s race of the 42.195km X-Bionic Lake Garda 42, starting in Limone sul Garda and finishing in Malcesine, the finish line saw Slovenia’s Michal Puskar of the bernohy.sk club in first place with a time of 2:48:10, followed by Sweden’s Andreas Hultqvist of the Tullinge SK club, who was 43 seconds behind, and Italy’s Alessio Zoller of Atletica Team Loppio, who finished the race in 2:51:38.
Celebrating in the women’s race was Poland’s Karolina Wasniewska of the Biegiem Radom! club, who stopped the clock at 3:12:57.
Completing the podium was Germany’s Sarah Winter, distanced from the winner by 2:31, and Austria’s Christina Mandlbauer of the LG Kirchdorf club, with a time of 3:25:42.

The LG21 Half Marathon

For the third year in a row, women confirmed their attachment to the race: more than half of the participants in the LG21 marathon, starting in Arco di Trento and always at the finish line in Malcesine, were women.
For the second consecutive year, the fastest was confirmed to be German Philine Meister of the Early Birds club with a time of 1:20:55, followed with a difference of 1:18 by compatriot Nelly Rassmann of the TV Planegg-Krailling club and 1:27 by Italian Bianca Campidelli of Atletica Rimini Nord.
Among men, German Tom Förster of the LG Braunschweig club won with a time of 1:11:40; on the other two steps of the podium were Italians Luca Vivaldi of the Stivo Running A.S.D. club (1:15:05) and Diego Bazzoli of the Valchiese club (1:15:54).

LG Kids: budding runners

Also an integral part of the event is the LG Kids, a race dedicated to younger children.
More than 100 children up to 12 years of age registered for the run of just over a kilometer on Saturday, April 13 at the Rocca di Riva del Garda, the fortress that once protected the town.
It was a sporting event for the runners of the future and, above all, fun.
