XTerra Dolomiti Brenta Trail 2024 – For many runners, it is the most beautiful trail route in the Dolomites: it is from this beauty that Dolomiti di Brenta Trail, whose eighth edition will be on Saturday, September 7, 2024, starts.
With 4 months to go, there are already more than 300 registrants, and as always they are aiming for a full house. The event formula is now a classic. 3 distances: the long 64km, the medium 45km and the half marathon, introduced in 2023.
Departure in front of Lake Molveno, with eyes already on the Brenta Dolomites, illuminated by the first light of the sun: and then it will be, as every year, time to run, in the shadow of peaks that have made the history of mountaineering and that still retain a wild and distant soul.
Dolomiti di Brenta Trail is one of two scheduled events in Italy in 2024 of the XTERRA Trail Run World Series, a circuit that unites the international trail running community under the spirit that drives XTERRA, the desire to explore spectacular and iconic places around the world. Each race also provides an opportunity to qualify for the XTERRA Trail Run World Championship, putting up a set number of slots that allow the best runners in each age category to qualify for the finals.
On the Molveno stage, the distances over which athletes will be able to compete for the XTERRA championship are two: the classic 45 km route, which made the history of the Dolomiti di Brenta Trail, and the 21 km half marathon, designed to engage new enthusiasts on the magnificent trails of the Dolomites. With an elevation gain of 1250 positive meters, the route offers the opportunity to immerse oneself in the breathtaking views of the Brenta Dolomites, starting from the picturesque Lake Molveno and passing through Malga Andalo, Selvata refuge, Croz dell’Altissimo and Montanara, and then returning to the finish line, located in front of the lake waters. As many as 116 slots are available in each of the two races to win a place in the circuit’s world finals scheduled for 2025.
In addition to the two XTERRA distances, the classic 64-kilometer race, which each year sees Europe’s best trail runners compete on spectacular trails through the majestic peaks of the Dolomites.
Main partner of the event since the first edition has been Montura, which offers participants a rich race pack and takes advantage of the event stage to present its charitable projects, such as the Rarahil Memorial School.
