Andrea Lanfri conquers Everest

Ferrino ambassador Andrea Lanfri is the first multi-amputee athlete to reach the world’s highest peak.

Andrea’s great climb began eight years ago, in 2015, when, due to the consequences of a fulminant meningitis, he suffered the amputation of both legs and seven fingers.

Today, almost a decade later, man reached the Roof of the World when last Friday, at 5.40 am local time, he was able to admire the sunrise 8848 meters above the level of the sea.

He and his mountain guide, Luca Montanari, climbed Everest along the classic route on the south side. After reaching Nepal, last April, they completed their acclimatization and Andrea also took the opportunity to run the mile highest in the world, in just 9 minutes and 48 seconds.

This is not the end, and there are other milestones planned for the future. “In reality, Everest is a stage on my journey, the most important of course, but a stage. The real project,” my7summits “, will continue with the other peaks. Next on the list? Kilimanjaro the highest on the African continent!” said Andrea during an interview.
