Sporty boot design with a particularly bold look, especially in the steel/orange (men’s) and icefall/sulphur (women’s) versions. Designed for alpine hiking in technical terrain where support and stability are required. Made on Hanwag’s standard “Trek” fit, it surprises from the start with its comfortable feel: the foot is wrapped without any particular constriction, allowing the toes just the right amount of space. The midfoot is firmly closed to ensure perfect support even on difficult terrain. This is accentuated by the 2 Zone Lock lacing system, a mechanical lock placed on the instep that improves fit and grip. Unlike traditional clamp hooks, it stays firmly in place without slipping. A quick and easy trick to set, even with one hand, different lacing tensions. By loosening it uphill, we can prevent the upper from hitting the shin. When descending, by lacing both areas firmly, the foot does not slide forward. The sensation felt is that of having a single foot/shoe unit combined with excellent power transmission. Part of the credit also goes to the rigidity of the Perwanger suede upper. These features add up to a fully waterproof and breathable membrane. A TPU frame, which runs from the heel to the midfoot, gives the necessary torsional stability, further enhanced by the low stack height. The middle part houses a softer PU that provides more cushioning. Finally, at the base is the aggressive Vibram compound tread with 3D PrismBase technology, a newly developed structure that enables a 30 percent weight reduction. Extraordinarily deep fins facilitate traction on steep slopes and soft, muddy terrain.
