Helly Hansen presents the new Skagen Offshore Jacket

The Norwegian brand won the German Design Award

Sustainability, design and performance. Helly Hansen won the German Design Award for the features of the professional-grade Skagen Offshore Jacket.

This jacket, to be highly sustainable, is made of ocean bound plastic, an expression codified in 2015. 50% of the materials are secondary raw materials, in the sense that they’re collected in the 50km deep coastal strip in contexts where waste management is lacking.

The design has been taken care of by sailing professionals to ensure professional performance to protect yourself while sailing with a high standard of comfort and safety.

The international jury of the German Design Award awarded the Skagen Offshore Jacket because it “combines maximum functionality with a sporty and elegant design. It offers protection from water and wind, and at the same time it is breathable, therefore comfortable to wear.”

Øyvind Vedvik, sailing category managing director of Helly Hansen, commented with satisfaction: “We are incredibly proud to have been awarded the German Design Award. This award not only recognizes the quality and innovative design of this oilskin, but highlights our commitment. to make professional-grade products fit for purpose. We develop our products in collaboration with professionals who live and work outdoors in demanding conditions around the world, to make sure we offer the protection, functionality and comfort needed to every activity.”
