The Japanese brand’s allround model

Mizuno Wave Daichi 7

Wave Daichi 7 is a shoe that finds in its simplicity its best feature. Now in its seventh version, Wave Daichi 7 is a model suitable for medium distances between three and five hours of running, whether on hilly or mid-mountain trails. It can also be taken on longer and more demanding routes, although these are not its ideal terrain. Overall, this is a comfortable, edgeless shoe with an even fit, bandaging at the instep but not constricting. The upper material is non-stretchy and is able to protect the foot without the addition of spurs and other external applications that would weigh down the structure. The tongue is padded and increases the comfort of the fit. The typical wave shape of the midsole, made with an EVA-based Mizuno Wave dual compound, gives it good cushioning on natural terrain, making it structured on descents and comfortable on climbs; however, it seems a bit stiff on asphalt and generally on hard ground. We liked the sole, made of Michelin compound, and which works well on dry rock, even on more technical terrain, while it tends to suffer instead on wet rock. Our testers recommend it to a fairly wide audience, and to anyone looking for a reliable shoe to tackle all spring races.
