One could say good blood doesn’t lie, as Niccolò Colturi, son of Pietro former world champion in 1990, won the Italian snowboarding title in the bordercross specialty. The competition was held on the snows of Colere, in upper Val Seriana (Bergamo province), and the athlete from Bormio who grew up in Brianza performed well in the finals, defeating competition from his two teammates in the C.S.Esercito, Michele Godino and Filippo Ferrari, who finished ex aequo in second place. At the foot of the podium Luca Abbati.

“It was a very hard-fought final with some unavoidable contact but extremely fair,” Niccolò commented at the end of the run, “and I am really satisfied to end my competitive season like this, to which we also add two successes in the European Cup.

At just 20 years old, Colturi won his first national title in the specialty, which goes along with the Junior World Vice Champion title he won in 2022: the road to qualifying for the 2026 Milan Cortina Olympics is mapped out.
