A boutique board for those who love extreme carving

PLP Phenix L.E. Prototype test

A table of which only 4 examples exist is already special in itself, if then each one is numbered and personally signed by PLP’s Ettore Barabino it becomes clear how one enters into a higher level of care and design equal precisely to that of a boutique hotel or a starred hotel. The making of the board itself is also quite artisanal: cut using state-of-the-art technology, it is then assembled by hand while the pressing stage is carried out using moderate heat. The Phenix is a directional board that is fast and precise in freeride and surgical for those who like extreme carving when they really have to be on the trail (we didn’t miss either and it was epic). This is due to the shape where the nose is wider than the tail, which provides better buoyancy, while the progressive sidecut allows you to get out of turns very quickly in order to tackle the next ones effectively and powerfully. The flagship of the board, however, is the tail, the innovative Modular trail designed by PLP: the outer tails are longer and have a softer flex, while the middle sections are shorter, and therefore stiffer, and provide exceptional flotation and responsiveness, allowing a smoother transition between turns. The camber, as well as the set back position, ensure smooth surfing even in deep snow, allowing for optimal weight distribution while the reinforcements found on both the tip and tail are made of a light alloy and do not affect buoyancy as much.
