Polartec launches fleece with Shed Less Technology
Five years ago Polartec began a journey to improve the quality of fleece fabrics, a journey that led to the birth of the new Shed Less technology. The development process was long and challenging, but the results were truly amazing.
Polartec Shed Less Technology is designed to solve a common problem with fleece, which is the shedding of microfibers during washing. In the past, fleece fabrics were notorious for losing fiber fragments, but today we can confidently say that this is no longer a problem. In fact, Polartec has succeeded in drastically reducing the dispersion of microfibers during home washing, thus ensuring longer fabric life. The Shed Less Fleece, one of the first products to use this innovative technology, has undergone extensive testing using the AATCC TM 212-2021 standard, one of the most rigorous and comprehensive testing methods on the market.
The results obtained were surprising: the Shed Less Fleece was shown to lose an average of 85 percent less than the reference fabric, representing a significant and tangible improvement over the competition.
However, this is just the beginning of the new Shed Less journey: in fact, the Polartec team continues to invest resources and time in researching and developing new solutions to further improve the performance of its products.
