Ortles Light Mid Powertex is a mid-high cut boot developed for lighter mountaineering. The upper is a true concentrate of technologies in which weights and thicknesses have been minimized. On the upper part we find a high-strength nylon fabric in which a protective TPU side structure stands out. On the inside, however, a waterproof and breathable PFC-Free Powertex membrane. It gives a solid appearance that can provide, at the same time, great freedom of movement. The shock-absorbing EVA midsole provides additional comfort during high-speed activities. The Ankle Protector System (APS) wraps around the malleolus area providing sufficient stability and adequate protection from rocks and stones. New Edging Plate 2 technology, a semi-rigid reinforcement placed in the front, adds directional stability under the toes ensuring solidity when climbing and improving efficiency when climbing. A stabilizer insert (compatible with crampons) is placed in the heel for more support during ascent. This is also where the proven 3F technology (with Kevlar cables) intervenes to increase support in this area. Fit also facilitated by the 3D system, classic of Salewa high-neck models, with locking that divides the lacing into two zones to provide additional comfort. Pomoca’s Alpine Light solution was chosen for the sole: grip and traction on the most heterogeneous terrain.
