Scarpa at Lavaredo Ultra Trail 2023
Scarpa will be present with its athletes at the Lavaredo Ultra Trail 2023, a race coveted by all trail runners.
This competition will take place in one of the most striking views of the Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, in the renowned resort of Cortina d’Ampezzo, which will also host the Winter Olympics in 2026. The event includes five different distances: the first Lavaredo 10K on June 21, followed by the Lavaredo 20K on June 22, the Lavaredo 120K and 50K on June 23, and finally the Lavaredo 80K on June 24.
Team Scarpa will be represented by Argentine athlete Sergio Gustavo Pereyra, a former winner of the Patagonia Run 2023, who will take on the most demanding challenge of the Lavaredo Ultra Trail, a 120-km race with an elevation gain of 5,800 meters. The start is scheduled for 11 p.m., allowing athletes to admire the spectacular sunrise passage at the Three Peaks of Lavaredo.
The portuguese André Rodrigues and the 2021 European Ultra SkyMarathon champion, Spain’s Sandra Sevillano, both part of Team Scarpa, will instead participate in the Lavaredo 80K, the only inline race in the entire event, which starts in a different village each year and arrives in the center of Cortina. It will be an authentic journey into the heart of the Dolomites. International trail running star Anna Comet Pascua, from Spain and a member of Team Scarpa, will take part in the Lavaredo 20K. Anna was the 2022 triumphant winner of the legendary Marathon des Sables, a 270-kilometer race that takes place entirely in the Moroccan Sahara desert.
In addition, the event in the Dolomites will also be the occasion for the second Scarpa Trail Youth Team Italy event. This team was created to foster the growth of young athletes by giving them the opportunity to meet and compare themselves with the elite Scarpa team athletes. The athletes selected for their talent, commitment and passion for mountain running are Anna Hofer, Enrico Rota Martir, Fabio Visintini, Marcello Scarinzi, Nicolò Lora Moretto and Noemi Bouchard. On June 21, they will run at night along the trails of the Dolomites during the first LUT 10K.
The trail running team participating in the Lut will also be featured in a special event at Cortina 360 on June 22 called the“Spin Planet Party,” dedicated to music and fun. Marco De Gasperi, former professional mountain running athlete (1997 to 2016) and current Scarpa brand manager, will introduce the team along with journalist Maurizio Torri, editor of

. During the evening, Sergio Gustavo Pereyra will talk about his victory at Patagonia Run 2023. The event, free admission with reservations on eventbrite, will also be an opportunity to learn more about Spin Planet, Scarpa’s innovative Trail Running collection, which introduces a new generation of products aimed at reducing environmental impact, a testament to the Italian brand’s commitment to sustainability.
