Skimofestival, here’s the latest news from Italy’s first ski mountaineering festival

Skimofestival, the first ski mountaineering festival in Italy, will be held in Santa Caterina Valfurva, in the heart of the Stelvio National Park, and will be an opportunity to preview test the new FW 24/25 collections, meet athletes and share the passion for ski mountaineering. The festival will take place March 8-10 and will include various activities, including the Skimoparty and the screening of a Patagonia short film, as well as a series of ski mountaineering and splitboarding experiences led by Bormio Skimo Mountain Guides. At the test village in Santa Caterina Valfurva, participants can preview new equipment for winter 24/25, including boots, splitboards, clothing and more. Tracked routes of varying difficulty will also be available for unforgettable experiences. In addition, the festival will host the first edition of the “Skimo Sprint,” a relay ski mountaineering competition inspired by the format of the Milan Cortina 2026 Olympic races.
For those who wish to attend the festival for more than one day, accommodation packages with reduced prices are available at hotels in Santa Caterina Valfurva, Bormio, Valdidentro and Valdisotto, as well as admission to the Bormio spa. Admission to the event is free, but registration is required on the official website.
