If you like to earn your downhill line by climbing the slope with your skis on, you will probably want to do it with a pair of Salomon MTN Explore 95, that’s what happened to us during the test. MTN Explore 95 isn’t just fun ski, it’s on a higher level, adding efficiency and lightness uphill. The skis have a light but strong Karuba wood core, which has resulted in fast and snappy turns. To further increase climbing efficiency, Salomon also used the Spaceframe 2.0 design which removes extra materials where they are not needed. To maintain the torsional stiffness needed to go full throttle downhill on hard pack, crust or finest powder, MTN Explore 95 has edge-to-edge Titanal reinforcement, while on tip and tail there is a layer of fiber. carbon and linen woven together. The Koroyd honeycomb tips give this ski lightness in the oscillation, necessary when pulling curves on hard pack, the terrain for which these skis were designed. To complete the touring-oriented design, Salomon incorporated clips at the tip and tail to put the skins in and out easily: a detail that we really appreciated. They are skis that, thanks to the 95mm under the foot, float very well even on powder, they can be maneuvered well in the woods and work well if you want to pull curves on the track. For advanced and expert skiers looking for a versatile, efficient and fun ski, we would like to recommend them Salomon’s MTN Explore 95.

We Like: Uphill efficiency and downhill stability on all types of terrain.
