After a 40-year hiatus, last winter Sarner Ski returned to producing skis. Among these, Spitz stands out, Sarner’s ski mountaineering model with two widths under the foot: 85mm for women and 87mm for men, a good compromise to be agile uphill and to float on powder thanks also to the rather accentuated tip. The Paulownia wood core makes this ski quite light, around 1200 grams. The result is a multi-purpose ski, with which to have fun all year round and to leave at home only on days of deep snow, preferring instead a wider ski in the center, such as Klöckl, Sarner Ski’s model devoted to freeriding. The radius of curvature changes according to the length of the ski, so in the lengths of 154 and 156cm they are very manageable models, with which to make fast turns in the woods or in the steepest couloirs. As the length grows, the radius increases, but the ski is still very manageable. We were not thrilled in high-speed corners, but if you are old school skiers and you want a model that works for everything, from training to long spring glacier trips, Sarner Ski’s Spitz could be the right ski for you. The brand also allows you to test the skis in different Test Centers (you can find them on the official website), demonstrating how much it believes in this new project and in these new skis.

We Like: Versatility and response to the feet of skiers with different features.
