A 2022 that starts as number 1 for Stefano Ghisolfi
The italian climber from Turin starts the new year as number 1 in the world climbing ranking.
After his victories and excellent performances in 2021, climber Stefano Ghisolfi has entered 2022 as the number one athlete in the world ranking, heralding a year full of potential successes: from the European Championships in Monaco to the World Games in the United States, through to more personal exploits: “2022 will be a year of transition, I will focus mainly on training and will give space to the European Championships and the World Games – says the climber from Piedmont – Then I will try to face “Silence” in what seems to be a feat on the edge of the impossible. Everything will be planned to get as close as possible to 2024, the year of the Paris Olympics, which I absolutely want to take part in”.
An athlete fully focused on his career, but with an even more attentive eye on projects linked to environmental protection. From 2020, the Fiamme Oro climber will be one of the “Green Heroes”, a group of five athletes from different disciplines who aim to create greater awareness of environmental sustainability: in 2021 he helped raise funds to plant more than 400 trees between Italy and Guatemala.
