In the morning there was the opening of three exhibits, while in the afternoon there is an opening ceremony in Depero Hall at the Province Palace, as well as the first appointment with the feature An Hour to Acclimatize in Cesare Battisti Square.

72 Trento Film Festival: Day 1

The Trento Film Festival 2024, in its 72nd edition, opens three outstanding exhibitions today, April 26, at the Church of Santa Maria del Suffragio and Sala Thun in Torre Mirana. The day opens at 11 a.m. with two intriguing exhibitions, “Ethereal Reflections” by Alexander La Gumina, which explores the theme of water through photographs rich in reflections and symmetries, and “Emotions: (thirst for) a primal need” by Leonardo Fabbri, a video installation documenting the sharing of human experiences. At the same time, “The Ice Builders” highlights the water challenges of the Himalayas through a project carried out in Ladakh, exhibiting the sustainable solutions adopted by the local community.

The afternoon of the festival offers moments of insight and celebration, including the opening ceremony at 5 p.m., followed by the presentation of the book “Solo. My Ascent” by Krzysztof Wielicki, a mountaineer known for his extreme feats. At 7 p.m., the discussion “An Hour to Acclimatize” will cover the dynamics of life in the mountains, with guests Luigi Dall’Armellina, Erica Balduzzi and Andrea Membretti.

The day concludes at 9 p.m. at the Social Theater with “Una storia scivolosa,” a show that, through the irony and narration of Beppe Severgnini and Marta Rizi, explores the evolving relationship with the mountains from the postwar period to the present.

The Trento Film Festival confirms itself not only as a leading cultural event, but also as an opportunity to reflect on the connection between humanity and nature, offering a rich program of meetings, performances and meaningful dialogues.
