Cober, 70 years of art and mountains

Cober, 70 years of art and mountains

To celebrate its 70th anniversary, the historic hiking pole brand Cober decided to go big. An art project called Mountains at (HE) Art that will bring together works by twelve artists inspired by the iconic mountain poles that will be exhibited in a vernissage at the ArtNobel Gallery in Milan on December 11, 2023.

The project

For several years now, Cober has been linked to the art world with The Art Of Skiing project. Each year an Italian artist inspired by and connected to the world of mountains and sustainability is selected to create, through their art, one or more works inspired by Cober.
For its 70th anniversary, the mountain pole company decided to expand this idea to twelve artists who could think outside the box. The results are truly stunning. Cober’s prerogative has always been to focus on development and new technologies. The decision to entrust artwork for its seventieth anniversary to artists so akin to their vision stems precisely from the need to want to convey to clients the fundamental attitude of making innovation in any field.

Mountains at (HE)Art

The Mountains at (He)Art project was created to celebrate Cober’s 70th anniversary by targeting both mountain enthusiasts and art lovers. A beautiful conceptual union that resulted in the selection of twelve young Italian artists who share with Cober the three fundamental points on which the company is based: sustainability, nature and innovation.

Over the past year, each selected artist received a pair of Cober basatons different in season and discipline of use that they were to use as a generative element in creating the artworks. The result was an ‘explosion of creativity, rich in details and, above all, differences that makes each work unique and inimitable. The twelve artists’ personal interpretation greatly expands the boundaries of imagination of what, each of us, generally associates with the outdoor world.

The vernissage

The works created will be exhibited in a vernissage at the ArtNoble Gallery in Milan onDecember 11, 2023, precisely on International Mountain Day. A perfect ending to celebrate Cober’s love of the mountains for seventy years.
