The date to mark is Saturday, June 10 at 4:30 p.m. at the Gallerie D’Italia in Turin. During the event, which takes place June 8-11, archives are celebrated through a unique path of enhancement and promotion in Italy and Europe, exploring the suggestions evoked by carnet de voyage from all Italian regions.

A not-to-be-missed moment within the festival is the mountaineering history event to be held on Saturday, June 10 at 4:30 pm. Three experts in the field, Angelo Ponta, Roberto Mantovani, and Anna Ferrino, will retrace the stories of two great figures in mountaineering and exploration, Walter Bonatti and Reinhold Messner. Through the testimony of three different archives, the Arnoldo and Alberto Mondadori Foundation, the Bonatti Archive and the Ferrino Digital Archive, the speakers will recount the life and exploits of these two extraordinary men. Anna Ferrino will join the narrative by recalling his first expeditions to the 8000-meter peaks, when the Ferrino company followed Messner on all his exploits, studying and creating innovative high-altitude tents with him.

The dialogue will be enriched by documents, images, objects, emotions and personal memories, offering the audience an engaging and unique experience. It is a journey within a journey, representing man’s deep connection with lived memory, its taking shape over time and its permanence as an indelible trace of will and passion.
