Francesco Ratti ready for Miyar

The expedition to Francesco Ratti’s Miyar will leave on September 4. At his side, in addition to partner Millet, are Jerome Perruquet, Lorenzo D’Addario and Alessandro Baù.

Francesco Ratti and his three traveling companions, from Sept. 4 to Oct. 6, will leave for Miyar, a valley located northwest of Lahaul and Spiti districts in the state of Himachal Pradesh, India. Referred to by locals as the “Valley of the Flowers,” it is an extraordinary little corner of the world that fits into an expanse of endless flowers and meadows, glacial streams, moraines and rocky boulders.

In the midst of an eternal circle of majestic peaks and mountains rising to the sky with no known limits, the arduous adventure led by Francesco Ratti and his companions will find its headquarters at an altitude of about 3950 meters in the Miyar Valley, and then proceed steadily toward the advanced camps in the main side valleys of the glacier, getting closer and closer to the massive granite walls that border this impassable region.

The primary focus of this daring adventure is the ascent of two specific peaks: Mahindra Peak (6,080 meters) and Neverseen Tower (5,800 meters). Although these two peaks have served as targets for some mountaineering exploits in the past, they will provide an extraordinary opportunity for the four mountaineers to chart new routes on their towering granite walls, fueling a burning desire to open an unexplored technical route on one of these mountains.

The big day is finally approaching! This new challenge among the Miyar Himalayan mountains nurtures the dream of baptizing a new route,” says Francesco Ratti, who makes no secret of his excitement and enthusiasm about the expedition ahead.

Millet’s signature equipment is ready. Francesco Ratti will pack his jacket.
Trilogy V Icon Gtx Pro
, for protection against snow, water and wind; the jacket Trilogy Edge Core, which combines warmth and lightness; the pants Trilogy Icon Infinium soft, stretchy and lightweight; the pants Trilogy Black Crag comfortable for trekking and relaxing days at base camp; the pants Trilogy Mxp Aircore to use as an inner thermal layer on colder days; the backpack Trilogy 30 perfect for technical mountaineering and finally the sleeping bag Trilogy -15 To face the cold nights at high altitude.

“The dream has already begun, all that is left is to enjoy the journey, hoping to get to the top and looking back laden with pride, but with the knowledge that however it goes, it will be a victory on a professional and personal level,” concludes Francis, who is very ready to set off on this new adventure.

Have a good trip Francis!
