Garmin introduces Foretrex 801 and 901

The Foretrex series, is Garmin’s first, pioneering range of wrist-mounted GPS. Born in 2004, it has evolved over the years while keeping intact its status as an essential navigation product, a miniaturization of the eTrex series that allows you to have all orientation, positioning, guidance and terrain analysis functions on your wrist. The latest version of this historic series is the Foretrex 801 and Foretrex 901 Ballistic Edition, two perfect companions for outdoor activities.

With the new Foretrex models, it is possible to move in any environment thanks to highly accurate sensing and orientation sensors, including a three-axis accelerometer, an electronic compass, and a barometric altimeter. Both devices also have built-in multiband signal reception technology that can lean on different frequencies to further improve position accuracy.

The Foretrex 801 and 901 units support ANT+ wireless sensors and are able to expand their capabilities by pairing with Garmin devices, such as the inReach satellite communicator, with which you can receive messages and activate SOS even in areas without phone coverage directly on your Foretrex.

Using a new easy-to-read 2.2-inch monochrome display, data on the screen can be viewed in any lighting condition. Rugged and ideal for any condition, these devices are built to the military standard (MIL-STD-810) and provide battery life of up to 1,000 hours in Expedition power-saving mode.

In addition to the classic navigation features, Foretrex 801 and 901 were developed to provide the user with tactical functions such as Stealth Mode and Kill Switch, both of which can conceal sensitive user information. Finally, Foretrex 901 allows you to analyze shots with your target weapon through the Applied Ballistics (AB) function and the integration of the AB Synapse – Garmin app.
