Matteo Eydallin Ambassador of Cimalp

Matteo Eydallin Ambassador of Cimalp

The French brand is determined not to miss out on a collaboration with athlete Matteo Eydallin. It would be madness, after all. The ski mountaineer class 1985 continues to astound, one season after another.

An athlete of the Military Sports Center, he is passionate about mountains. Grinding out elevation gains on skis, he has also collected his fair share of victories and trophies, including that of World Ski Mountaineering Champion, which he won in 2021.

At the close of the 2022/23 season, Matthew’s wins totaled ten and established his dominance over the Skimostats Ranking last winter. Among the brightest are a gold medal at the World Championships and victories at Transcavallo Alpago, Monte Rosa and Sellaronda Skimarathon. And that’s not all. Steppen – a nickname referring to the wolves of the steppes – triumphed at the Adamello Ski Raid and the Mezzalama Trophy, earning his 20th La Grande Course victory. With gold at the Ski Mountaineering World Cup – Team Race 2023 In Val Martello, Matteo wins the title of most “agé” champion. In the history of World Cup races.

Despite the big wins, Matteo makes simplicity his motto. Less is more! Repeat. He has a home in France in a very rural village and lives on animals, gardening, local consumption. It is the values of mountains and respect for the people and athletes who live them that bring him closer to the Cimalp brand.

Matteo Eydallin still Cimalp’s Main Ambassador

CIMALP proudly announces the renewal of its contract with Matteo Eydallin for the fourth consecutive year. After as many sports seasons, the collaboration between the 1985-class Turin ski mountaineer and the French outdoor clothing brand continues.

“I am happy to have taken Cimalp with me to any victory…and beyond,” declares Matthew. “We share the same idea of mountains, of outdoor practices, the same respect for people, athletes and mountain professionals in general. There are no borders between the Italian and French Alps. We are part of the same territory, part of the same family. And this is what I find in the Cimalp family.”

Matthew becomes a Cimalp Main Ambassador in 2019. He became the face of the brand’s range of technical goggles and participated in the development of the Max Fly ski mountaineering goggle.

From the motto “less is more” comes Max Fly

The masks on the market could not meet Matteo’s needs, who found himself, cutter in hand, having to remove their inserts or plastic frames. Together with Cimalp, he makes a custom mask for him. The mantra that must follow? Comfort, lightness and air circulation.

The Max Fly features a wide screen with a simple, straightforward design and an internal Double Foam insert that provides a better fit to the face and prevents condensation. This model is lightweight (only 45g) and is perfectly compatible with the helmet thanks to the adjustable strap with silicone bands for the perfect grip.
