Nike Ultrafly Trail: Speed and Grip for Off-Road Racing

The new Nike Ultrafly Trail offers athletes a fast and grippy trail running experience, developed in close collaboration with Nike Trail’s elite athletes. First time features Flyplate layered carbon plate between ZoomX foam and a fabric-wrapped midsole.

In a new partnership between Nike and Vibram, they bring Vibram’s leading technology and unique sole design to Nike’s trail shoe offerings.

After more than two years of rigorous testing and development with elite Nike Trail athletes, the Ultrafly was fine-tuned specifically for the needs of trail runners who want to run, chase the FKT, and hit the trails at a fast pace. In 2021, Nike Running designers began working closely with elite Nike Trail athletes to create a flagship trail running shoe, taking cues from Nike’s innovations for global road running and adapting them to the unique needs of the trail runner.

Nike Trail athlete Tyler Green was the Nike team’s original inspiration model for innovation. He has covered more than 1,000 miles in shoes during training and has run three consecutive top-five times in the prestigious 100-mile “Western State Endurance Run” race in shoes.

“I have put the shoe to the test on rocky terrain, steep climbs, fast descents and tough workouts,” Green says. “It’s exciting to see how with my feedback we have provided useful information about a product that will help all runners pursue their goals on the trails.”
