Nimsdai has just set two new world records

Osprey ambassador Nirmal Purja has done it again: he has captured two, incredible, new world records.

Many of you may know that Nirmal Purja, also known as Nimsdai, is a mountaineer famous for having climbed all fourteen 8000m mountains in the record time of 189 days, just over 6 months. The two new world records, this time, were achieved for reaching three peaks above 8,000 meters – Everest, Lhotse and Kanchenjunga – in 8 days, 23 hours and 10 minutes without oxygen.

Not only that: the climber achieved another Guinness World Record for completing the traverse from Everest to Lhotse without oxygen in just 26 hours. “I was focused on driving and helping our team achieve their new goals, but it was all done in a relaxed way. My mission has always been to inspire people and to show what human beings are capable of, this is what gives me energy and pride – to show people that nothing is impossible,” says Nimsdai Purja.

Supporting such an incredible feat was Osprey’s most innovative backpack ever: the UNLTD Airscape model.

Thanks to a 3D printed lumbar system with Carbon DLSTM technology, the backpack offers optimization and a non-slip grip. The whole is also equipped with an AutoLift system to automatically adjust the length of the harness and a Fit-On-The-Fly hip belt for precise adjustment in the field.
