Ortovox, new chapter on ProtACT Lab for better approach to ski mountaineering

The multimedia training platform of Ortovox supporting an ecological and socially responsible approach to mountain sports adds a chapter dedicated to ski mountaineering.

Ortovox’s commitment to educating its consumers for a better approach to the mountains is growing even more: in fact, the ProtACT Lab brand platform can boast a new addition to its content baggage, with a new chapter dedicated entirely to ski mountaineering. The platform also offers video tutorials, testimonial stories, and tips to raise awareness and motivate people to change their behavior and move the enormous potential of the entire mountain sports community.

Ski mountaineering is not only a mountain sport involving maximum freedom, it also includes enormous responsibility. Especially with regard to wildlife safety and disturbance. However, there are different ways of ski mountaineering with an eye toward respecting nature and those who inhabit it, and this is where Ortovox takes action, giving specific advice to make the day of ski mountaineering a little more sustainable than usual.

The new ProtACT Lab chapter refers to the animals most often encountered in the Alps during winter. In a video, forester Andreas explains the peculiarities of the habitats, raises awareness of potential conflicts and dispenses useful advice – pointing out that, what for us ski mountaineers is the outing season, for the animals corresponds to the hibernation period. The chapter also provides the German Alpine Club DAV’s ten tips for nature-friendly ski mountaineering.
