The boot of choice for some of the world’s most renowned ski mountaineers.

Tecnica Zero G_Boots_TEST

As many true touring skiers will know, moving into the backcountry sometimes requires making compromises. However, these compromises should never be about equipment, including ski boots. For too long, backcountry skiers have been faced with the difficult choice between lightweight boots suitable for ascents and performance boots suitable for descents. Today, finally, this dilemma has been solved with the Zero G Tour Pro. This genuine masterpiece of lightness among touring boots weighs only 1,320 grams and offers an impressive 55-degree angle of movement. Featuring a hull with partial overlap and four strong locking hooks, the Zero G Tour Pro can provide a flexible and powerful 130 stiffness index. Its design makes it exceptionally lightweight and offers enviable efficiency when you are on steep climbs. This is possible thanks to the co-injected carbon fiber cuff and Grilamid hull, which provide the same power and precision as a traditional downhill boot, where the brand’s alpine and freeride know-how shines through. Brilliant and dynamic in tight turns, solid and compact in wide ones. It supports weight and decision of those who want to “gas” the most candid or challenging descents. Suitable for pros or experienced ski mountaineers, we do not, however, feel comfortable recommending it to novices because of the rigidity of the hull and its essentiality.
