The North Face’s all-new Summit line of Gore-Tex Pro shells for mountaineering in extreme conditions

The North Face Summit Pumori GTX Pro Jacket

Inspired by the marvelous pyramidal peak looming in the Himalayas’ Mahalangur, the Summit Pumori is a mountaineering jacket in a three-layer Gore-Tex Pro membrane with heat-sealed seams for maximum protection in extreme environments. The design of the garment ensures a comfortable fit, and the cut, which is longer at the back, is designed for maximum protection from the elements. The hood is wide so that it can be worn with a helmet, but at the same time it is snug: combined with the high collar, it provides excellent protection. Unlike other jackets, shoulder seams have been eliminated in this one to minimize bulk and friction with the backpack on the shoulders. Equipped with numerous pockets and adjustments, this jacket is designed to hold everything you need on the mountain. There are also classic underarm openings to ensure good breathability during movement. Front pockets remain high, designed to be accessible even with a backpack. The cut is comfortable but not baggy-this shell is still designed to hold an insulating layer underneath, like a down jacket. The Summit Pumori is also constructed of recycled material, making it a modern, high-performance, environmentally conscious jacket that it is designed for in every sense of the word. Designed for extreme mountaineering, we also see it well in more demanding winter ski mountaineering.
