Vans launches Circle Vee to reduce environmental impact

The new shoe uses renewable and responsibly sourced materials, aiming to reduce waste.

Vans is proud to present Circle Vee, the shoe that aims to help the company have a smaller and smaller footprint on climate change. But how?
The Circle Vee boasts a natural one-piece knitted upper, a system designed to reduce production waste compared to Vans’ classic sewn cut uppers. The upper is also stitched directly onto the sole and is composed of 48% organic cotton, 47% hemp and 5% nylon. The laces, on the other hand, are made of 100% jute fibres. Another part of the shoe that surprised us is the EcoWaffle sole, made from a natural rubber compound through certified sustainable processes, instead of synthetic rubber derived from petroleum. The reduction in environmental damage is evident and the quality remains the same: the new natural compound guarantees the same grip and durability as the classic Vans.

The brand wants to raise awareness of the importance of small daily gestures in favour of the preservation of nature, from taking the bicycle instead of the car, to using the water bottle, remembering that very little is needed to make a difference.
In addition, to support and protect the oceans, Vans will donate $1 for every Circle Vee product sold – with a minimum donation of $25,000 – to the Tides Foundation.
