Vibram and NNormal for Footwear Repairability Program
Vibram and NNormal recently announced an innovative partnership. Together, they launched the Repairability Program, an initiative that aims to extend the life of shoes and help reduce waste.
The program, part of Vibram and NNormal’s shared commitment, offers the opportunity to resole and repair NNormal footwear by experienced Vibram shoemakers around the world. This collaboration not only extends the lifespan of the shoes, but also supports small independent businesses throughout Europe.
It is known that over time, shoe soles wear out in unique ways, depending on each individual’s running style. The heel may wear out sooner or the left instep may deteriorate faster than the right. Usually, the soles wear out before the midsole, which can be annoying if the upper is still in good condition, although dirty. However, thanks to the Repairability Program, there is an alternative solution.
This program allows NNormal shoe owners to have their shoes resole and repaired by Vibram’s selected partners in France, Italy and Spain. Vibram employs specially trained shoemakers to work on the NNormal as soon as components begin to wear out, thus extending the life of the shoes.
NNormal’s commitment to the durability of footwear is one of the brand’s core pillars, and the Repairability Program stands as an ideal solution for using shoes for longer. This initiative also supports small and independent businesses in Europe, underscoring NNormal and Vibram’s joint commitment to transform the production and use of shoes, following the philosophy of“Your path, no trace.”
Vibram has long promoted the“Vibram Repair If You Care” initiative, emphasizing the importance of repair and everyone’s role in reducing waste. The cost of repairs will depend on the type of work needed.
NNormal shoes will be re-soled with Zegalite, a high-performance rubber developed by Vibram, which provides maximum grip on dry and wet ground. The Zegalite sole is also highly durable, allowing NNormal shoes to travel many more miles. Shoemakers will be able to replace laces and repair uppers, yarns and the heel area, thus offering thousands of people around the world the opportunity to extend the life of their footwear.
The official announcement of the partnership between NNormal and Vibram took place during the Vibram Repair Day in Milan, an event held at the Vibram Connection Lab, desired by both brands on June 14 and 15. This event was an opportunity to celebrate the collaboration and share the mission of sustainability and durability of shoes between Vibram and NNormal.
