With Brooks at the Transgrancanaria for the new Catamount 2
At Transgracanaria 2023, Brooks introduced its team of young athletes and launched its first clothing line along with the new Catamount 2 shoe.

We were guests of Brooks on the island of Gran Canaria with athletes, retailers, and running legends such as Scott Jurek (you will find the exclusive interview in The Pill 60), to experience the famous Transgrancanaria (on The Pill 60 the story of the race) and test the new Brooksbranded products.

, indulging in unforgettable running moments where we wore and tested the new trail clothing collection and the brand new Catamount 2s, comparing with Nick Clinton – trail product line manager – to talk and find out more about the process of conceiving and creating the new collection.
A head-to-toe collection
The Summit’s goal was to introduce Brooks’ new signature clothing line: a line designed and created by trail runners for trail runners, to reach every peak in all weather conditions.
The items from the new Brooks line that impressed us the most are:
- High Point waterproof jacket; with 14000 water columns with heat-sealed seams and waterproof zipper, Breathability: RET 7
- Women’s High Point3” 2-1 and men’s High Point 7″ 2-1 running shorts; Shorts made of Ripstop: 25% recycled material in the women’s version and 50% in the men’s version both with pockets for storing small essentials
- High Point socks medium or quarter length; equipped with an abrasion-resistant fabric that allows for long lasting use: the toe is reinforced to protect the most delicate areas of the foot, and the merino wool fabric controls odor and facilitates breathability.
Catamount 2, the protagonist of the journey
“Uphill Running Made Easier”
is the claim that accompanies the new line by Brooks, and the Catamunt 2 is the undisputed star.One of the many features of this model is the new SkyVault technology, which provides maximum responsiveness and protection for the runner. Traction, stability, cushioning, protection and space are the main features the R&D team has been working on.
Catamount 2 was created to meet each of these needs and to enable the most dedicated runners to push themselves higher and higher in total safety. Its shape provides flexibility, stability and comfort on descents.
The new SkyVault propulsion plate made of Pebax greatly improves uphill thrust and for rocky trails increases protection. DnaFlash is the material used for the midsole, made by a nitro-infusion process that increases cushioning while increasing responsiveness.
The sole in TrailTack, patent Brooks, performs great on both dry and wet soils ensuring great grip fast drying thanks to the scanalaure.The Tpee air mesh upper has a water-repellent outer layer and is very resistant to abrasion, interesting is the inner layer composed of 100% recycled material in some places, such as the tongue and its insert.
