The North Face Base Camp

The North Face Base Camp

Exploration is the DNA of the brand. With the Basecamp program, The North Face continues its mission of encouraging exploratory living.

Garmisch-Partenkirchen in Germany, Chamonix-Mont-Blanc in France and Cortina d’Ampezzo in Italy. Three of Europe’s most popular mountain destinations, these are the locations chosen by The North Face for its basecamps, which aim to gather local climbers, trail runners and mountaineers into a hub of sharing and meeting.

The calendar is varied and offers experiences for each season designed specifically for each location. From skitouring to freeriding, ice climbing to mountaineering. This is how The North Face promotes the mountains and provides an opportunity to test the most innovative clothing and technical equipment.

Having already involved more than 3,000 participants in 25 events in 2022, Basecamp continues to grow this year. September saw the opening of the space at The North Face store in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, which offers a garment customization station to add a personal touch to equipment and lockers to store personal belongings before heading off to the mountains.

In Italy, the Basecamp event is in Cortina d’Ampezzo, and the next dates to mark on your calendar are:

December 8 and 9, 2023: Winter Camp Ski Tour Edition

February 16 and 17, 2024 – Winter Camp Freeride Edition
